Seahorse Academy
Dedicated to Teaching Individuals to Swim Confidently
Miss Amanda
Seahorse Academy was created in May of 2014 by Amanda Wolf after she completed school at the University of Montana, majoring in Elementary Education with a focus in Special Education. Amanda found her passion for teaching swim lessons at ClubSport in Tualatin during high school. She continued teaching during holiday breaks in college along side her mom Tammy, who was her coach growing up. Seahorse Academy was created with the idea that everyone is capable of learning how to swim regardless of their age or abilities. We are dedicated to providing a safe environment where you or your child will not only leave knowing how to swim but also with a love of swimming. Adults are often embarrassed or nervous about needing swim lessons, we want to assure you that we are thrilled to have you! When we say everyone is capable of learning how to swim, we really mean everyone. No one will ever be turned away from Seahorse Academy due to age or ability!
Miss Amanda teaches students with Different Abilities, Scared Students, Adults, Infant Survival, and those coming from a Traumatic Experience!

What do you like about working at Seahorse Academy?
I love knowing that each kid who comes here is going to be safe and comfortable in the water after working with us. The peace of mind of water safety is PRICELESS!
What’s your background?
I grew up in McMinnville and graduated from McMinnville High School. After that I went to college for one year at Western Oregon University, and then ended up at Chemeketa Community College where I finished my Associate of Arts Degree. During that time I held a few different jobs including serving, lifeguarding, and wildland firefighting. Now I go to school at OSU-Cascades as a Natural Resources major and am happy to be working at Seahorse Academy!
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
Outside of work I can most often be found doing homework and studying for school! Aside from that I love to spend time with my friends, my roommate, and my boyfriend exploring Bend and playing outside. I also love to visit my family in McMinnville whenever I get the chance!

What do you like about working at Seahorse Academy?
I enjoy giving the gift of swimming to children and adults. I believe swimming is a safety skill, as well as a lifelong joy.
What is your background?
I grew up in Hawaii, and swam competitively for many years from an early age, eventually joining a pre-olympic swim team in high school. With that experience, I understand and appreciate the discipline and team work involved in participating on a swim team, as well as the skills set necessary. After college, I taught as a special education teacher, and then moved on to working in the legal profession. I have been a Certified Legal Assistant and Legal Administrator, for over 30 years. When my children, Miss Amanda, and her sister Tabitha, were growing up, I coached their swim team in Lake Oswego. The team included children from kindergarten through eighth grade. With my experience, I was able to teach swimming skills to the youngest participants, and did advanced coaching for the older children. After my children went to college in 2007, and 2009, I began teaching private swim lessons at Clubsport Oregon. I enjoyed the one on one positive lessons with each of my students. Many of my students, including those that started out as nervous swimmers, moved on to join swim teams, and still keep in touch with me today after all these years! I believe I am well suited to teach all ages of children, and adults, especially those with anxiety about water and swimming. I enjoy sharing my love of swimming in a calm, positive and rewarding way with my students.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
When I am not in the office, or in the pool, I enjoy hiking the trails of Bend, riding my horses, playing with my 4 dogs, and gardening. I also love swimming and exploring the lakes of Bend with my grandsons Aaron and Lincoln, now 5 and 3 years old. Happily both are safe swimmers, and carry on the family tradition of a true love of swimming!
